This is the town of 1100 medieval structures which we discovered in a travel book found at Malaprops--a bookstore in Asheville, NC while honeymooning there. Two days later we continued onto to Berlin to stay with my sister and her husband where we borrowed a car and drove to Quedlinberg. This is the view of the town's schloss kirche (castle church)which was co-opted by Hitler during World War II. Leah and I enjoyed warm tomato soup here in the castle on a cold, clear day in January.
